How Stuart Scott is a Darn Legend
Stuart Scott left this world too early. Mr.Scott spent his time in the sportscasting business, doing what he did best. He enjoyed his job do much that he did not even feel like going to work was actually work. He was diagnosed with cancer in 2007, he lost his long battle to cancer at the young age of just 49. Before Scott's broadcasting, ESPN was a boring sports show, but he truly truly changed the entire network after he joined in 1993. He became lead host of sportscenter in 2008. He has interviewed several presidents including Obama and Bill Clinton. He also interviewed other great sports stars such as Tiger Woods and Sammy Sosa. He could have always been seen with a huge smile on his face during all of his interviews. His loss will deeply effect his family. Stuart had two daughters and an ex wife. To be honest, it is unbelievable how he lost a wife because of how good of a guy he is. Without Stuart Scott the sports casting industry would not be what it is today, and his loss is a tradgedy so many people, including me. R.I.P. Stuart Scott

Let the Receivers do their thaaaannnngggg
There has been a lot of talk about how the rookie class of receivers is "out-playing" the veteran class. This statement is made because of wonder catches by rookies, such as Oddell Beckham Jr. The new receiver fits nicely in the NFL, but they need to know the veterans still run the show. Antonio Brown is a 5th year reciever out of Central Michigan who plays for the Pittsburg Seelers. Brown has the highest receiving yard in the NFL with 1,498 yards. Antonio is relatively new to the league, being drafted in 2010, but he is certainly not a rookie.
Julio Jones is another stud who has been in the league longer than a year. Playing in his 4th season in the NFL for the Falcons, Julio as accumulated 1,428 yards this year making him the second best receiver in the league in the area of passing yards. Jones was drafted in the first round out of Alabama in 2011. He has four years of experience in the league, unlike his rookie counterparts, which is plenty of experience to become a top performer.
3rd on the list for the NFL's top receivers at the moment is, Demaryius Thomas. Demaryius is in his 5th season in the NFL, and is unfortunate enough to play under Peyton Manning. Demaryius has 1,389 yards and 11 TDs. Thomas graduated from Georgia Tech and was drafted in the 1st round in 2010. None of the rookies who are said to be "elite receivers" are in this top 3 because they do not have the experience of the veteran wide receivers. Young players such as Oddell Bechkam Jr. can mak amazing plays, but should leave the the the real receiving to the veterans.

The Rams Stay Truuuu
I am sure most people have heard about the trouble in Ferguson, where an unarmed teenager named Micheal Brown was shot while ROBBING a store and people are outraged. Tight end Jared Cook and receivers Kenny Britt, Stedman Bailey, Chris Givens and Tavon Austin took the field against the Oakland Raiders sporting a "hands up gesture to show there support to the family of Michael Brown who was shot while robbing a store.
Ferguson Missouri is just ten miles away from the stadium, so many of the Rams player felt as if they should show there support, and disgust with the actions of Darren Wilson (the police officer who shot Michael). These gestures have sparked heated debates in the sports world. Several sports experts support the player decisions, and say they did the right thing for standing up for what they believed in. "As far as the choice that the players made, no, they were exercising their right to free speech," Rams coach Jeff Fisher said Monday. "They will not be disciplined by the club nor will they be disciplined by the National Football League as it was released today." sports analysts believe the gesture was a little over the top. The reason many people feel the gestures were too much is because there have been several riots, murders, rapes etc. in Ferguson lately and people believe we should turn away and ignore these people.
The Rams players not being punished was definitely the right thing to do because people should never be denied there right of peaceful protest or free speech no matter who they are, or how many people are watching. What the Rams players did was courageous and they should be praised for there courage, not punished for expressing themselves. Several police officers are suggesting the Rams are "Trying to start trouble" or "Feeding the fire", this may be true but officers should not try to strip the players from their rights. A peaceful protest is perfectly fine in my book and in the United States Constitution. Jared Cook, Kenny Britt, Stedman Bailey, Chris Givens and Tavon Austin should keep standing up for what they believe in.

With every rise there is a fall.
The NFL is a big deal in the United States. Every sunday millions of americans turn on their TVs to watch the action-packed match-ups the NFL has to offer. Possibly two of the the most well-liked teams in the NFL are the New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos. Both teams have several players that are very talented, including two hall of fame bound quarterbacks. It is understood how good Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are as they are both always projected to play well. The Patriots started of quite slow but are now ranked number 1 in the power rankings for this year, but the Broncos stayed on pace with constant top 10 appearences in the rankings. In recent weeks, the Patriots have been playing fantastic, even beating the Broncos 43-21! Is it time for the Broncos to begin their downward spiral?
There is and ever-lasting debate in the football world of who is the better quarterback, Tom Brady or Peyton Manning. Both men have outstanding attributes to back them up. Manning as of week 7 holds the all-time passing TDs record for the NFL. That is something only one man can say, and it is a pretty big deal. The Broncos have remained atop the NFL and its power rankings all season. There has not been a shed of doubt on the team because they prove their talents each wee with impressive wins against teams like San Francisco (42-17) and San Diego (35-21) but withe their 43-21 loss to the patriots, it begs the question is there a new sheriff in town?
Tom Brady is a hero in the area of New England. I for example hope to marry him one day. Tom Brady was a 6th round draft pick out of Michigan unlike his first round pick adversary, Manning. Unlike Manning, he does not hold the all-time TD record, but he has arguably more important attributes. Peyton Manning played in the Super Bowl last year and performed anything but well losing 43-8 to Russell Wilson! With Tom Brady's post record standing at an impressive 18-7 while Manning has a much less impressive record at 11-12. Many people agree that the postseason is the only thing that matters. With Brady sporting 3 super bowl rings and Manning only having 1 it is clear who performs better both under pressure and in the postseason. Will there ever be a true answer to who is a better quarter back? Yes it is clearly Brady.

The Patriots are still beautiful
THE PATRIOTS ARE STILL GOOD
Many people have really gotten on the New England Patriots this season for bothe their losses and wins. When they lose it has been to "bad teams", the Chiefs and Dolphins both beat the Patriots by multiple scores. When the Patriots played Oakland it was a very close game being 16-7. People tend to forget that every player that is in the NFL is there for a reason. There is not one "bad player" in the league because all of them were specially selected for their outstanding skills in football, so why is everybody freaking out that the Patriots lost to good players?
The New England Patriots have been a team to be reckoned with in the past decade. Many people have begun to say that their "dynasty is over", these people do not know what they are talking about. If you have watched any patriot games in the last two years you have noticed that they always start slow. Although they start weak, with a quarterback like Tom Brady it is almost impossible to end slow. With three superbowl rings, Tom is not finished yet and will keep fighting until he has a forth. This season is quite simply an extended metaphor to most of the patriots games, start slow finish strong. The pats defense is new to working with eachother and have not "clicked" yet, but they will come week 5. Revis is new to the Patriots but not to the league, once Revis island returns he will perform well and be a great help in returning the Patriots' "dynasty" title. Vince Wilfork is also not performing at his best and needs to pick up the slack. The Patriots' players will pick up their game for the rest of the season.
The Patriots have certainly struggled in the first four weeks of the the 2014-2015 season but they will bounce back. Coach Bill will lead the Patriots into battle week 5 against the Bengals with only one intention, to win. With the late night stage upon them the Patriots have no choice but to prove to Mr. Taylor and the world that they are still a great team and have a legitimate shot of winning the league and possibly even the super bowl after they work out the kinks that have become of this beginning of the season "funk." The Patriots dynasty will live on this year and for many years to come.

Week 4 is a Blessing for the NFL
Most people would consider week four as the beginning of the season. This is not just the beginning of the season, but the start to the Seattle Seahawks dominating the NFL this year. Seattle is a far better team than anybody else in the NFL. They have a very consistent offense that is accompanied by the best defense in the NFL, as well as the best home stadium! If Seattle can manage to lose just one more game it would be a shock.
Russell Wilson leads the Seattle offense with his speed and precision passing. He is accompanied by arguably the fastest player in the NFL, Percy Harvin. Russell Wilson has to try to overthrow Percy Harvin because he can cover forty meters in just 4.41 seconds! With the option to throw or to run the ball with Marshawn Lynch are equally as tempting! Marshawn Lynch or "beast mode" is built like a truck and runs like one too. He constantly is noted for how many yards after contact he gets (not to mention hes on my fantasy team 😏). The Seattle weapons certainly do not stop at their offense. Richard Sherman has the stats to prove that he is the best corner back in the NFL. With the most interceptions in the league, which is a cornerbacks job, Richard is feared by many QBs in the league. Having the best corner in the game is good, but having one of the best past rushes as well is the icing on the cake. With Micheal Bennet leading the pack, the Seahawks have five sacks in just three games. It is quite hard to make a throw when you are being sacked. Every team should thank god they do not have to come to Seattle to play a game. CenturyLink field is the loudest stadium in the NFL. The sound was measured six feet above the turf and the sound was equal to that if a JET ENGINE. When teams play at CenturyLink they can barely hear themselves think, let alone here the plays they are to perform. When watching games played at CenturyLink you can tell the players and the coaches are flustered by the noise level in the stadium. The reason the stadium is so loud is the sound all funnels straight to the field! The fans are called the "12th man" because they sound level they create helps just as much as a player! A regular NFL team simply cannot beat the Seattle triple threat of offense, defense, and location.
Last year Seattle won the Super Bowl quite comfortably over the Denver Broncos who are an elite team and they will do it again. The chargers played well but Seattle made many critical mistakes in their 30-21 loss in week two. Seattle will not make those mistakes again. The NFL needs to prepare for the damage The Seattle Seahawks will deliver to teams this season. You got lucky week four because they had a bye NFL, but you will not be so lucky come week five when Seattle will destroy the Washington Redskins by a score of 31-7 (prediction),

Are NFL players role models?
Role Models in the NFL
by Brett Stern
Professional athletes are often looked at as role models for young athletes. In some cases this statement is true, but the number of true "role models" in the NFL is steadily declining. The NFL has been in the news a lot over the past year mostly for legal reasons. There have been 94 NFL players arrested since 2013! Athletes cannot be role models from the inside of a jail cell. Athletes can however have large and positive impact on children's lives if they set there mind to it.
Aaron Hernandez was arrested for murder. Aaron took someone else's life. He also had the eyes of millions of kids on him, watching his every move, adoring him. Hernandez showed kids that violence and gangs were ok. That doesn't seem like a good role model. Ray Rice knocked his fiance out cold in an elevator. Adrian peterson beat his child with a tree branch. They were two of the biggest stars in the NFL and threw it all away because they resulted to violence against there family. Showing kids once again that violence is OK. These kinds of NFL players are NOT role models for kids.
Ndamukong Suh donated $250,000 to his old high school. Showing kids how to be generous and always give back to the people who made you the person you are today. Peyton Manning Donated $500,000 to the Pat Summit Foundation showing once again that NFL players can do amazing things with their "overly high" yearly salaries. People like Suh and Manning are part of the few NFL players that can still show kids the right way to act and live your life. The NFL has many role models that can show kids the right path, but unfortunately children need to be careful in choosing their sports icon because he just may end up in jail.
